Important: Restrictions on printed and audiovisual materials in shipments from the EU to Russia
BPD Express reminds senders that for EU → Russian Federation shipments, restrictions are primarily determined by the destination side (Russia/EAEU). This is not an EU ban—these are import/control rules applied on arrival. EAEU customs rules prohibit mailing goods restricted under UPU acts and goods listed by the Eurasian Economic Commission. (consultant.ru)
What is restricted
The restrictions are generally content-based, not a blanket ban on “all books.” Public customs guidance lists prohibited printed/audiovisual materials such as those containing extremist/terrorist calls or justification, pornography, unlawful election/referendum materials, Nazi-symbol propaganda, and other harmful content. (ctu.customs.gov.ru)
What may happen if detected
If prohibited content is identified during control in Russia, items may be seized and not released to the recipient. Further actions (including possible destruction/disposal) depend on the competent authorities and the specific case. (consultant.ru)
